Job Function: managing large initiatives from a business and technology perspective
Description: Program offices oversee strategic corporate initiatives and the series of projects required to support those initiatives. Enterprise resource planning (ERP) deployments, the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) issues, and Contact Center build-outs fall into this category. Because these types of initiatives touch many parts of the business and nearly every process within the IT organization, an overriding coordination process — a Program Office — is needed to ensure successful implementation. The program office also ensures end-to-end business ownership from inception to rollout.
WatchIT Value: WatchIT’s coverage for the Program Office focus on vendor negotiation, discussions of leading technologies in large-project arenas, negotiating strategic plans, managing budgets, and ensuring successful coordination of implementation processes.
